I Gained a Beautiful Friendship

Hello everyone! I’m Yixin from China. During my exchange at Jissen Women’s University, I not only deeply experienced Japanese culture and learned a lot of language skills, but I also gained a beautiful friendship.

I met Moyu through the Japanese Conversation Partner Program at Jissen Women’s University. When we first met, we quickly bonded by talking about her exchange experience in China and my current exchange experience in Japan.This conversation brought us closer together. Later, our meeting spots moved from the school cafeteria to popular sushi restaurants, Okonomiyaki restaurants, Chinese restaurants, parks in late autumn, streets in early winter, and so on. Moyu and I created countless beautiful memories together, such as running on a ginkgo-lined avenue, singing each other’s native songs at a karaoke, and writing our names in the sand at Atami Beach.

As an international exchange student, living in Japan has been fascinating and fun, but at times I’ve also felt lonely being far from home.Moyu has been like a warm little sun, always healing me with her sincere words and lovely smile.I often feel insecure about my Japanese, but Moyu always encourages me to express my thoughts in Japanese.I feel very lucky to have met her through the Japanese Conversation Partner Program, and I am deeply grateful to Jissen Women’s Universityfor providing me with these amazing opportunities to learn, grow, and build meaningful connections.Through these experiences, I had the chance to meet Moyu.

I am thankful for her being such a wonderful friend.Her kindness, support, and warmth have meant the world to me, and I will forever cherish our beautiful international friendship.
